Chickoo Halwa Recipe
Ingredients
1. Chickoos (6)
2. ghee (1tbsp)
3. khoya or milk powder made paste (150gms)
4. milk (1/2c)
5. cochineal drops or essence (2-3 drops)
6. sugar (1/4-1/3c)
7. chopped almonds and walnuts (for garnish)
Method of preparation:-
1. Take chickoos, peel them and then mash them in a bowl to make a paste of them. Take a heavy saucepan, place it over heat. Add milk in the pan and boil it and then add the mashed chickoos in the pan.
2. Cook it until it gets slightly thick and then add the khoya in the pan. Cook it by stirring continuously. Now add ghee and sugar. Reduce the heat to low and cook it by stirring continuously until the ghee gets oozes.
3. When the halwa gets ready then put it in a serving dish and garnish it in the center with chopped almonds and walnuts. Serve it hot.
