Fish In Mustard Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
1. White fish fillets (2)
2. finely chopped spring onions (2)
3. turmeric powder (1/2tsp)
4. salt (1/2tsp)
5. oil (3tbsp)

For mustard Sauce:-
1. Corn flour (1tbsp)
2. milk (1c)
3. Dijon mustard (3tbsp)
4. butter (1tbsp)
5. salt (to taste)

Method of preparation:-
1. Clean the fillets and cut into serving pieces. Take a bowl, put fish pieces in it and add salt and turmeric powder. Keep it aside to marinate for about ½ an hour.

2. Take a pan, heat oil in it and put the fish pieces in the pan and keep them to cook by stirring occasionally. Cook it until the fish flakes easily. Remove and then drain the fish fillets.

3. Take a casserole and place the fish fillets in it. Heat oil in a pan, add corn flour and then mix it continuously until it becomes smooth. Add milk and stir. Cook it until it gets thick.

4. Add mustard and salt and cook it for 3 to 4 minutes. Now take off the pan from heat. Pour the mustard sauce over the fillets. Then garnish the fish with chopped spring onions.

Fish Cutlet Recipe

Ingredients
1. Fish (1/2kg)
2. garlic paste (1tsp)
3. ginger paste (1tsp)
4. corn flour (1tbsp)
5. egg (1)
6. bread (1slice)
7. bread crumbs (1c)
8. garam masala powder (1/2tsp)
9. turmeric powder (1/2tsp)
10. oil for frying
11. coriander leaves (1bunch)
12. salt (to taste)
13. green chilies (1-2)
14. red chili powder (1tsp)

Method of preparation:-
1. Take fish, apply salt and turmeric powder on the fish. Wash the fish after 5 minutes.

2. Take a pan of hot water, steam fish in hot water and then remove all the bones. Mash the fish with hands. Add garlic and ginger paste, red chili, salt, corn flour, garam masala powder, green chilies, coriander leaves and bread slices (soaked in water and squeezed). Mix all these ingredients and make cutlet of round or any shape you like.

3. Take a bowl, beat egg lightly in it. Dip the cutlets in beaten egg and then roll them in bread crumbs. Take a frying pan, heat oil in it. The oil should not be very hot. Fry them until get golden brown. Drain them from the oil and serve them hot with potato fingers and chutney.

Crisp Fried Surmai Fish Recipe

Ingredients
1. Thicket slices of Surmai fish (6-8)
2. peppercorns (8)
3. ani seeds (25gms)
4. cumin seeds (15gms)
5. cinnamon (20gms)
6. black cardamom (20gms)
7. cloves (8)
8. ginger (25gms)
9. chilly powder (1 1/2tsp)
10. extracted juice (3lemon)
11. oil (as required)
12. salt (to taste)

Method of preparation:-
1. Take surmai fish slices, wash them very nicely with water and place them on paper towels so that the water gets absorbed in the paper.

2. Pound finely, cardamom, ginger, cloves, cumin, cinnamon, aniseeds powder and peppercorns. Mix these in the lime juice along with chili powder and salt to taste. Cover the fish slices in this mixture and keep it to marinate for half an hour.

3. Take a frying pan, place it over heat. Heat the oil in it and then fry the fish slices in hot oil. Fry 2 or 3 slices at a time until they get crispy and brown. Then drain the fried fish from the oil and serve it hot with any chutney.

Bengali Fish Curry Recipe

Ingredients
1. Fresh carp or stripped bass (4slices)
2. jalapenos (2)
3. turmeric (1/2tsp)
4. oil (2tbsp)
5. panch foron (1/2tsp)
6. mustard seeds (2tbsp)

Method of preparation:-
1. Take fish; apply salt and 1/4teaspoon of turmeric to the fish. Take a non stick pan, heat oil in it and fry the fish in it until it gets golden brown from both sides. Drain the fish from oil and keep it aside.

2. Make a paste of mustard seeds, jalapenos and ½ cup of water in a blender. Add the panch foron and this mustard paste in the remaining oil. Fry for about 4 to 5 minutes and then add the fish, turmeric powder and salt.

3. Cook it for 10 minutes until it gets cooked. When the Bengali fish gets ready then garnish it with cilantro and serve it hot.

Fish Amritsar Recipe

Ingredients
1. Singhara fish (1kg)
2. maida (2tbsp)
3. besan (2tbsp)
4. whisked eggs (1/2c)
5. jeera powder (2tbsp)
6. chili powder (2tbsp)
7. haldi powder (1tsp)
8. ajwain (1tsp)
9. malt vinegar (3tbsp)
10. salt (to taste)
11. oil (for frying)
12. chaat masala (to sprinkle on top)

To be ground into paste:-
1. Garlic (2tbsp)
2. ginger (2tbsp)
3. red chilies (1/2tbsp)

Method of preparation:-
1. Take fish pieces, wash them and pat dry them. Dissolve the little salt in vinegar and marinate the fish in it for about 20 minutes. Now take out the fish from the vinegar, press it gently between two paper napkins to remove the moisture.

2. Take a bowl, mix eggs, ginger and garlic and chili paste with ajwain, chili powder, haldi, maida, besan, jeera powder, salt and coriander. Coat the fish pieces in this mixture and keep it to marinate for about 30 minutes.

3. Take a kadai, heat oil in it. Fry fish pieces in it until get crispy and golden brown. Drain out the excess oil and sprinkle the chaat masala. Garnish it with lemon wedges and serve it hot.

Chili Fish Recipe

Ingredients
1. Fish cut into pieces (1lb)
2. onion thinly sliced into long strips (1)
3. chopped garlic (4tbsp)
4. green bell pepper thinly sliced into long strips (1)
5. oil (1tbsp)
6. soy sauce (to taste)
7. salt and pepper (to taste)

Method of preparation:-
1. Take a non stick frying pan, place it over heat. Heat the oil in it. Take the fish pieces, clean them and fry them in the hot oil. Add salt and pepper. Fry fish on medium high heat for 10 minutes on either side.

2. Take out the fish from the pan. Now add the garlic, green bell pepper and onion with salt and cook it for about 10 minutes until gets crispy but not wilted.

3. Add the fried fish in the pan and mix it with the fried onions and green bell pepper. Season the fish with soy sauce and then serve it hot in a serving dish.

Pomfret Fry Recipe

Ingredients
1. Pomfret pieces (1lb)
2. onion powder (1tsp)
3. lemon juice (1tbsp)
4. garlic powder (1tsp)
5. tomato paste (1tsp)
6. oil (1tbsp)
7. sliced green chili (1)
8. chili powder (1tsp)
9. salt (1tsp)

Method of preparation:-
1. Take a large bowl. Add tomato paste, onion powder, garlic, chili powder, lemon juice and salt in the bowl. Add the pomfret pieces in the bowl and mix them well with all the spices.

2. Take a frying pan, heat the oil in it and then fry the pomfret pieces coated with spices in the oil. When the pomfret pieces get cooked then take them off from the heat and place them in the serving dish. Garnish the fried pomfret pieces with green chilies. Serve it hot.
