Bengali Rice Recipe

Ingredients
1. Rice (2c)
2. ghee (4tbsp)
3. sugar (50gms)
4. raisins (10)
5. cashew nuts (10)
6. onions (2)
7. salt (to taste)
8. garam masala powder (1tsp)
9. water (4c)
10. saffron threads (1/2tsp) dissolved in hot milk (1tbsp)

Method of preparation:-
1. Take onions, peel them and chop them and then finely break the cashew nuts into very small pieces. Take rice, wash them and then soak them for about 20 minutes in water.

2. Take a pan, heat ghee in it. Add chopped onions in it and fry them until they get soft and then add garam masala in it. Now add soaked rice in it and fry them for about 5 minutes. Then add salt and water in it and keep it to boil.

3. When the rice gets boiled then add cashew nuts, sugar, saffron milk mixture, raisins. Mix it well. Cover the pan and keep it to cook until it gets cooked. Now the dish is ready to serve. Serve it hot.
